Update: 2020 FGS Annual Meeting

We are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the 2020 FGS annual meeting at the . We have been monitoring the COVID-19 crisis very closely, and after much deliberation, we are prepared to move forward with our planning.

In order to do this, several precautions must be taken, such as:

  • Registration will be limited to 100 attendees
  • Food and beverage will be staged in a designated area served  “cafeteria style” by hotel staff
  • The exhibit floor will be limited to a maximum of 40 exhibitors
  • Masks will be required by all attendees and FGS staff
  • Spacing inside the general session has been expanded to allow proper distancing between attendees

Unfortunately, we will not be able to host a full endoscopy course this year. Instead, we will be coordinating with industry partners to provide attendees with several breakout sessions in its place. These sessions will cover a wide array of topics and several of them will be “hands-on” focused.

We appreciate your understanding and the limited information we can provide this time, but rest assured, this year’s course directors, Dr. Dennis Collins, FGS Pres. and past Pres., Dr. Peter Draganov are developing a terrific program for our general session. Industry partners have also come together to develop incredible breakout opportunities for you to attend.

As more information becomes available, we will continue to relay that information to you. If you would like to register in advance, registration is open and you may register here.

Reservations for lodging can also be made using this link to the Bonnet Creek Reservation center.

We understand that the situation may not be ideal for members who, under normal circumstances, would likely attend the conference. Therefore, this year we will be including a virtual component to the meeting. Within two weeks of the conclusion of our conference, we will make the entire course available on the FGS website through your member portal.

The Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort has presented us with a CleanStay Plan with Lysol and the Mayo Clinic to ensure your rooms and public hotel space will be clean and thoroughly sanitized. FGS staff will also be proactively tested for COVID-19 prior to the event.

We thank you for your support of the Florida Gastroenterological Society and look forward to providing you with an exceptional annual meeting experience, whether you choose to experience it virtually or in-person.
